Graduation requirements for students in West Virginia are established by West Virginia Board of Education Policy 2510, Assuring the Quality of Education: Regulations for Education Programs. Students must successfully complete the required coursework outlined in their Personalized Education Plan (PEP), which is developed in collaboration with students, families, and school personnel to align with post-secondary goals. Current state requirements include completion of a minimum of 23 credits, including coursework in English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, health, the arts, and personal finance, along with personalized electives that support each student's intended pathway after high school. Students are encouraged to review course selections carefully to ensure they meet graduation requirements as well as college admissions, scholarship, or career certification expectations.
