Employment @ WPHS

At Wheeling Park High School, we believe every student should graduate with the knowledge, skills, and experiences needed to succeed in today's workforce. Through meaningful career exploration, hands-on learning, and strong partnerships with local businesses and industries, students are empowered to discover career pathways that align with their interests, talents, and future goals.

Students have access to a wide range of employment-focused opportunities, including career fairs, industry presentations, job shadowing experiences, and networking events that connect them directly with regional employers. Our comprehensive Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs provide students with industry-relevant training, certifications, and real-world experiences that prepare them for immediate entry into the workforce or continued education.

To ensure students are ready for life beyond high school, all students complete a Personal Finance course that develops essential financial literacy skills, including budgeting, saving, credit management, taxes, investing, and responsible financial decision-making. Combined with career planning and workforce readiness experiences, these opportunities equip students with the confidence and practical skills needed to secure meaningful employment and build successful futures.

The Simulated Workplace initiative has not only enhanced instructional delivery of career education but has also created a more engaged career and technical student. The simulated workplace environment permits students the opportunity to take ownership of their individual performance as it impacts the overall success of their education, while thriving in an authentic workplace culture. Simulated Workplace also encourages local business and industry experts to join onsite review teams to assist schools in meeting their workforce needs and expectations.

Vision: Transform the culture of Career Technical Education by creating high-quality business and industry learning environments.

Mission: Our mission is to provide students with an engaging and relevant curriculum with opportunities to earn industrial state and national certifications.

Goal: All Career Technical Education completers are college and career-ready.
