Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

It is PROM week! We hope students will have fun with the Spirit Week Dress Up days we have planned. For those students with APPROVED PROM permission forms, they can start purchasing tickets tomorrow morning on our GoFan website. Tickets are $20/student.
Tomorrow students will receive a flyer about the Ohio County School Mental Health Fair. It this Thursday evening, the 23rd, at West Virginia Northern Community College. There are a variety of sessions related to high school age students, and I highly recommend the guest speaker, Mr. Jim Harris. Hope you can attend.
Otherwise, we continue to remind seniors to complete their senior survey and honor cord applications. All of which can be found in Schoology.

Support our Key Club and our community.

Prepare for several calls this week as it is ...SAT Test Week!
All 9, 10 and 11 graders will be testing on Friday, April 17. For Juniors, this is our state assessment, but it is also a FREE official administration of the SAT which allows them to submit scores to schools and earn the Promise Scholarship. We will test from 7:30 a.m. to about 11 a.m. and allow for early dismissals once testing is complete. We will use a specific early dismissal note that students will receive mid-week. If students can’t dismiss early, we’ll provide them lunch and enrichment activities for the remainder of the day.
On Friday, 12th graders are expected to be out of the building and participate in our tradition of Patriot Day of Caring. Those forms have already been provided to students and can also be found on Schoology.
Also, for Seniors, please continue to focus on the graduation items we shared last week. The Senior Survey is due on Friday, April 24.
And lastly, PROM permission forms are due on Friday, April 17. Students and parents receive email notification of their dance permission status and can work with Administration with any issues. Tickets will go on sale Monday, April 20. And the dance is Saturday, April 25 at the White Palace from 6 to 9 p.m. Promenade starts at 5 p.m.

WPHS LSIC Stakeholders Meeting - Tuesday, May 19 @ WPHS Innovative Learning Center
We welcome all school stakeholders to join us for an insightful and interactive presentation on Wheeling Park High School’s innovative work around the 3E’s (Education - Enlistment - Employment).
We look forward to two-way dialogue on how we can best support our students’ post-graduation plans.

This Wednesday @ 5:30 @ WPHS Baseball Field
All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society

Tomorrow is a PL Day. Students do not report.
On Tuesday, 9th, 10th & 11th graders will be doing pre-registration for the PSAT/SAT Test Day. We have scheduled our tests for Friday, April 17. We’ll be sharing more details on the day as we get closer, but it is imperative that we have their attendance for this state test.
Please join us Wednesday evening for the Steve Myers Legacy Baseball Game. We play John Marshall at 5:30. There will be several fundraising activities, and all proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
Lastly, the volume of early dismissals we are receiving has become concerning. Please do everything you can to ensure students are in school for a full day. It is in their best academic interest. We appreciate you scheduling appointments outside of the 7:30 to 2:30 school day. If a student must dismiss early, please write them a note rather than calling in. It’s a much more efficient process for us in the Main Office. We appreciate your help!

Congrats to Sophomore Jude Veltri and Freshman Lacey Pauley
Both will compete in May against the best in the US.

Get ready for a night of glamour, memories, and celebration! ✨

This message is for the weeks of March 23 & 30
The most important thing this week is that we are wrapping up the nine weeks on Wednesday. We will have Report Cards out to students when they return from Spring Break.
We also have Celebration of the Arts on Wednesday evening. This is an amazing county-wide event to celebrate all our amazing artistically talented students.
For our Juniors, Spring Break is a great time to get extra practice for the SAT. Khan has individualized work students can do based on their recent Bluebook practice tests. Math and English teachers may be assigning this work over break to help students prepare.
For Seniors, if you have not yet ordered your cap & gown, you need to do so immediately. If you're unsure if you still need to do so or have any financial constraints, please reach out to your counselor or Ms. Blake in the Main Office.
As a reminder, students are off for Spring Break the week of March 20 and Monday, April 6. They'll return Tuesday, April 7.

Deadline is April 4th
If finances are an issue, please see Mrs. Dailer or Mrs. Richards in Main Office.

We were excited to celebrate our State Champion Robotics Team last week and we are super excited to welcome our 46th Consecutive State Champ Speech & Debate Team tomorrow morning. I've also attached the schedule for our Hockey Team that is competing at the National Tournament this week in Minnesota. Games will be streamed on USAHockeyTV.com - Our students are amazing!
We are quickly approaching the end of the 3rd nine weeks. It wraps up before spring break. Please encourage your student to use our scheduled E-Op days to catch up on any outstanding work.
Otherwise, this week kicks off a lot of spring sports. Check out the attached schedule, come out, enjoy the weather and support our teams!

We had a wonderful Lunch and Learn today at the Oglebay Institute's Stifel Fine Arts Center. Students enjoyed an art scavenger hunt to identify the elements of art and were treated to a pottery wheel demonstration. Mr. Morgan taught us so much about the history of Wheeling and the Stifel family's impact on the community. We concluded our visit with a Q&A session about art careers and a delicious pizza lunch. Many thanks to Rick Morgan and the staff at Stifel!

Good luck to our Robotics Teams who are currently competing in their state competition.
And if you’ve ever wondered what Speech and Debate looks like – I encourage you to come to their showcase on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. You will be in awe of their talent and have the chance to wish them luck on their way to their 46th consecutive state title this weekend.
